Ansu Fati to join Monaco on loan

Ansu Fati, who was once the crown jewel of La Masia, is expected to leave the club to join French side Monaco on loan. There, the youngster can get more playing minutes and regain his once fascinating form. Lamine Yamal is expected to take over the number 10 from next season.

Ansu Fati’s time under Hansi Flick

Ansu Fati could not get enough playing time from the German manager. Hansi Flick considered Ansu to be improving, but not up to the level of sharing more minutes with Raphinha on the left wing. The youngster ended the season with no goals or assists in his limited minutes. A promising performance against Mallorca gave fans hope of seeing more of the number 10 on the pitch, but Hansi Flick decided not to increase his playing time.

What’s next for Ansu Fati?

In my opinion, moving to a top team like Monaco in the French league will help Ansu Fati a lot. He can regain his credibility if he performs well next season. Ansu Fati can receive more minutes under Monaco manager Adolf Hutter as his left-wing choices are limited. Relative to La Liga and the Premier League, Ligue 1 is not so competitive. It is also not too physical like the Premier League or too defensive like the Italian Serie A. Ansu Fati can rewrite his name in the best youngsters book at Monaco.

A possible return to Barcelona?

Hansi Flick has renewed his contract with FC Barcelona and will stay at the club till 2027. Ansu Fati can impress the German coach with his performances in the Ligue 1 and Champions League next season. If Ansu Fati makes Hansi believe he can be the wonder kid he once was, he might regain his place in the squad. Every Barcelona fan wants to see Ansu Fati succeed in the Blaugrana colours. A kid who gave the fans hope during a dark period in the club’s history and who was believed to be Leo Messi’s successor as the number 10. Barcelona fans have an emotional bond with Ansu Fati that makes them pray for the youngster’s success.

It is goodbye to Ansu Fati for now, but I will always believe in the Starboy that he once was and hope he can return to Barça as one of the best players in the world.
