In the first El Clasico of the season, Hansi Flick’s side trashed Real Madrid 4 goals to none in the Bernabeu. Fede Valverde played all the minutes in that match but could do very little to help his team get back into the game. He could create no chances and took only one shot at the goal which ended up being saved by Inaki Pena. A 6.5 rating on FotMob summarizes a disappointing performance from the number 8 of Los Blancos.
Nightmares for Valverde
Fede Valverde has spoken up about the 4-0 defeat to bitter rivals Barcelona. In an interview during the pre-match press conference of Super Copa de Espana, the Urugyuan midfielder admitted the loss really hurt the whole squad. He said it was hard to sleep after the loss and the team was not expecting to lose in such a way.
Revenge on his mind
Valverde is looking for revenge this night in the Super Copa de Espana final. The midfielder hopes to get back at Hansi Flick’s side and snatch Barcelona’s title away from them. He said there is an atmosphere of revenge in the Real Madrid dressing room.
So will Valverde have his revenge against Barcelona or will Carlo Ancelloti’s team face the same fate as in the Bernabeu. A final that has so much more than the title riding on it can make or break the rest of the season for both of the clubs.
