Barca sends scouts to watch Tah and Writz

FC Barcelona have been considering the signing of the German centre-back Jonathan Tah for a while. Florian Writz has been added to the list of potential signings for Hansi Flick’s side. The club has sent scouts to analyze the player profiles of both the candidates on Europe’s biggest stage as Bayer Leverkusen clash with Atletico Madrid tonight.

A centre-back to increase squad depth

The addition of Jonathan Tah to Hanis Flick’s side will strengthen Barca’s defensive abilities. A 6’4 defender who is a strong presence in Bayer Leverkusen’s box and has the ability to intercept passes to disrupt attacks. He might not be the fastest but has aggressive pressing and doesn’t give space for attackers to capitalize on. The German defender ticks the box of an excellent ball-playing centre-back with an overall passing accuracy of 94.1%. His signing will also ensure some rest time for Pau Cubarsi who is playing way too many minutes for a player of his age.

CAM addition to Flick’s arsenal

Florian Writz is an attacking midfielder who is already one of the best in his position aged just 21. He is a constant goal threat for Xabi Alonso’s side showcasing maturity in front of the goal. With excellent decision-making in the final third and in possession, the youngster creates a lot of chances for his team’s attack. Writz has 17 goal contributions in 18 matches and can prove to be Dani Olmo’s competition for Barca’s starting CAM. He will also strengthen squad depths and security in times of injury crisis.
