Barcelona vs Dortmund: Finish the Job!

FC Barcelona will go up against Borussia Dortmund on 15th April, at Signal Iduna Park. This will be the second leg of the quarter-final stage, with Barcelona having a four-goal advantage from the previous leg. Let’s discuss what can we expect in this exciting game.

The Importance

Barcelona won’t be sleeping and sitting on the hefty four-goal lead, they have experienced some mishaps before with a big lead. Dortmund would need an absolute miracle to turn the game around. Barcelona have already killed the tie in the first leg, they just need to push themselves and complete the job. I don’t think resting the leading players would be the right thing to do, it can turn out as a risky decision. Hansi Flik should go with his best line-up and could make changes mid-game.

Expected Lineups

Barcelona predicted starting lineup (4-2-3-1): Tek (GK) — Kounde, Cubarsi, Araujo, Martin — Pedri, De Jong, Fermin — Lamine, Lewa, Raphinha.

Dortmund predicted starting lineup (4-2-3-1, right to left): Kobel (GK) — Ryson Anton, Can, Bensebaini — Gross, Nmecha — Gittens, Brandt, Adeyemi. — Guirassy

Barcelona suffer a massive blow after Balde’s injury. Barcelona fans have another good news Dani Olmo will be travelling with the squad. If Barcelona gets a comfortable lead till the 60-70th minute of the game, I expect Flick to put Fati in.

What to Expect?

In my opinion, this will be a difficult game for Barcelona due to the home disadvantage, Dortmund’s atmosphere is pure class. Dortmund will be looking to get an early goal into the game, the first few minutes Barcelona really needs to pile up the pressure so the opposition gets no chance. I still believe Barcelona’s attacking power will be enough and the score would be 3-1.
