Dani Olmo crisis: How can Barca cope

Dani Olmo‘s registration issue remains unresolved despite numerous struggles from Joan Laporta and his team. The club was hoping to get some help from RFEF but has now been denied registration once again. Barcelona is now heading to court. Barcelona has decided not to speak or comment about the situation until they get a response from the court. Tuesday is the day when Barca is expected to go to the court. Hansi Flick has to consider the possibility of losing the Spanish midfielder and look for alternatives.

Pedri finally playing as a no.8

For most of his career, Pedri has played as a deep-lying playmaker for Barca. However, as world-class as he is in this position he has time and time again proved he can play higher up the pitch as an attacking midfielder. He is capable of getting out of tight spaces and brushing off defenders to create constant chances for his teammates as he did against Atletico Madrid. Gavi will be able to take his current role and offer intensity and defensive solidity by winning midfield battles.

Frenkie finally finds his place in the line-up

Frenkie De Jong has proved throughout his career he can play as an attacking midfielder. He is an excellent carrier of the ball and has an eye for space to exploit. He might be better at shooting from outside the box than Pedri to counter teams with a low-block defense. It might be his comeback to his best form by replacing Dani Olmo

La Masia to the rescue

The academy has provided exceptional talents to the first team whenever they have lacked squad depth. Dani Olmo’s absence can be a reason for the young talent to shine. Antonio Fernandez has been included in the squad by Hansi Flick to face Barbastro. Dani Rodriguez is another name which can help fill the void of Dani Olmo. A highly versatile player who is capable of playing on the wings and as an attacking midfielder. He can also help Lamine Yamal to decrease his minutes on the pitch to avoid injuries.
