El Clásico Baptism: How Has Lamine Yamal Survived His First Real Madrid Tests

The El Clasico is one of the most significant sports entertainment clashes; every great player has been judged by his statistics in this massive encounter. Barca’s rising megastar, Lamine Yamal, has also been lucky to feature in this game. Let’s discuss his first few tests against the mighty Los Blancos.

The Yamal Clasico Debut: Heartbreak or a Cruel Lesson?

Lamine Yamal’s first clasico was not a fairytale start. The 15-year-old was thrown into a 2-1 defeat as he came in as a late substitute for Joao Felix. The teenager played a 14-minute cameo, and the Barca fans cheered the little boy on his every touch. In his first appearance, Yamal struck one off-target shot and a tidy 9 out of 10 passes.

However, the Catalans lost the game as Bellingham struck a last-minute winner, and the game ended 2-1 in favour of Los Blancos. It was an excellent moment for critics as the 15-year-old was compared to Real Madrid youngsters. Disappointed from the loss, Yamal got the ultimate motivation for the future clasicos.

Clasico Chaos: Yamal’s Calma Celebration Broke the Internet

After another loss in the 23/24 season’s second clasico, Hansi Flick was appointed head coach, and it proved to be a game changer for young Yamal. Flick’s men thrashed Los Blancos 4-0 at the Bernabeu, and Yamal was the orchestrator of that thrashing. The teenager scored a goal with three key passes and celebrated with the famous Cristiano ‘Calma’ celebration to silence Madridistas. It was a spectacle!

The titan defenders, Rudiger and Militao, were tormented by the kid from La Masia. It was Barcelona’s and Yamal’s night in Bernabeu, where the kid was on a mission. On a mission to avenge his heartbreaking clasico debut and his beloved coach Xavi Hernandez.

Yamal’s Super Cup Masterclass the Birth of a Real Madrid Slayer

Once again, Yamal faced arch-rivals, this time in the Spanish Super Cup finale. By that time, Yamal was thriving and rewriting history as a 17-year-old. The game was kicked off in Riyadh, and Mbappe scored early for Real Madrid. However, minutes later, Yamal scored an absolute beauty, levelled the scores, and once again celebrated like a winner.

The confident Madrid defenders flinched at every Yamal feint that night, and Barcelona slayed Real Madrid once again. Yamal was terrific again, as his goal, 91% passing accuracy, and dribbling ran riot and Barca won 5-2 to lift the Super Cup.

Yamal is set to face Real Madrid again on April 26 in the Copa del Rey final and La Liga on May 11. Let’s hope he continues his excellent clasico form and slays Real Madrid, this time with an even better performance.
