In moments such as these, you need your team to stay calm, focused, and unfazed. That is exactly what Hansi Flick’s men demonstrated, one little man in particular. Lamine Yamal drags his team back into the competition with a moment of individual brilliance that made Culers nostalgic for the Messi days. The star boy won possession on the right flank and then danced past numerous defenders to reach inside the Inter box. Lamine, then surrounded by bodies, curled a shot from his left foot that hit the right post of Sommer’s goal and went in. The youngster now has the record of being the youngest player to score in a Champions League Semi-final.
Pedri’s brilliance brings Barça level!
Barça and Lamine Yamal continue to be a threat in the first half, but are unlucky as an effort from Yamal hits the post. Persistence pays off when Pedri plays a pass over Inter’s defense to Raphinha at the far post, who heads it down into the path of Lewandowski’s deputy, Ferran Torres. The shark makes no mistakes and taps it past Sommer to bring Barça level 2-2.
Inter keeps surprising Barça
The first half concludes, and fans in the stadium expect a comeback in the second half. However, Inzaghi’s men had other plans. The unexpected goalscorer, Dumfries, strikes again from another corner delivered by Calhanoglu. The Dutch right-back heads it past Szczesny to regain the lead for Inter and leave Barça chasing again.
Raphinha’s strike saves the day
Hansi Flick has created an elite mentality among his players, as it only took two minutes for La Blaugrana to respond. Lamine Yamal fakes a pass and instead rolls it for Raphinha. The Brazilian shoots a thunder strike from long range, which hits the crossbar and bounces off Sommer’s back to go in. Barcelona refuse to go down and level the game once more.
The match concluded in a Classic 3-3 draw after an entertaining encounter between two very good sides. Hansi Flick and his men will now have to wage war against Inter at the Giuseppe Meazza to qualify for the final. The stadium is not the most comfortable for away teams, but I think this team has what it takes to keep focused and confident, never doubting they will win no matter what the situation.
