El Barça planea construir una residencia para los jugadores del primer equipo

The FC Barcelona management is planning an exciting project for the first-team players. A residence for the first-team players will be built on the Sant Joan Despi training ground.

According to a report by Sport reveals the plan has been approved and will be executed once there are required funds available. The original estimate is about €6 million. The club wants to make sure the investment does not disrupt their finances, Sponsorship deals will be used to fund the project and it will be a relatively modest spending.

Why a residence?

This project aims to allow players to rest when returning from away matches. Rather than having to drive home after coming back to the Catalan capital players can spend the night at the residence. This can allow them to get the much-needed rest and speedy recovery from the match fatigue.

It will also help the club’s financial management as expensive hotels will not have to be booked. There will be three natural grass pitches and three artificial turf pitches, plus one 7-a-side football pitch, a critical amount of pitches for the volume of Barça’s youth football. The facility can also work as a helping hand to the Barca Femini team from time to time.

It will also be a good place for the players to spend more time together and interact with each other. Another benefit the club hopes to receive from the facility is players arriving early to training.

Expected completion

The club has admitted that the project is of utmost importance however, there is no date set for its completion yet. FC Barcelona has not contacted any architecture organizations for the design either. The club hopes to evolve into a further advanced football club and provide its players with the care and hospitality they deserve.
