In the crucial La Liga clash with Rayo Vallecano Hansi Flick had words about his players, La Liga and Jude Bellingham’s recent suspension.
The German manager praised his players and their hunger to keep on improving.
Flick: “I want to share with you the performances we’ve had since we started here. I have to say that the training process has given the team more confidence, they believe in themselves. It’s great that they enjoy training and enjoy playing with each other. My players love training and they love to improve, and that’s what we will see now. And also they are confident, and that confidence comes from training, and also from winning, because after every game we say: WE WILL GET BETTER.”
When asked if Araujo will be part of his plans in the upcoming match Flick had a positive answer.
Flick: “Araujo? He WILL BE in the squad. The way we play and our mentality are important, but winning titles is also our goal. Tomorrow we WANT TO WIN.”
Flick: “Cubarsi? He’s really special. Pau, at 18, looks like a player with a lot of experience. He defends very well, and he also has exceptional quality on the ball. Every player who comes out of La Masia is special. When they were 11, they played and celebrated like they do now. It’s very important to have that atmosphere in the dressing room.”âą
When asked about his views on the red card to Bellingham against Osasuna, Flick made some bold statements.
What is difference between “F*ck you” and “F*ck off”?
Hansi Flick: “If you say this to me, I think it’s not very nice and shows a lack of respect. But I’m not the one who decides on these matters, it’s not my job. I always tell my players – Why waste time or energy arguing with the referee after a decision has been made? Only a captain is allowed to speak and we have to accept it.”
Flick: “I have a few things on my list that I want to discuss with La Liga and the officials, but we have to play and score more goals, the rest is not up to us. La Liga can deal with that through the rules, and I am open to talking to those officials.”
