Barcelona faced Valencia in the Copa Del Rey quarter-finals. Barcelona won the game 5-0 away from home. Ferran Torres shone against his former club, scoring an exceptional first-half hat-trick.
Amazing goals by Ferran
1st Goal
Barcelona started the game quickly, with the first goal coming in the third minute. Ferran was between Valencia’s defense. Balde played a beautiful through ball from the left flank. Torres made a beautiful run and kicked the ball in the goal. These runs, which Ferran showcased, are lacked by Lewandowski. Flick uses Ferran in a more minus role behind the opponent’s box. Ferran’s smart movements make Balde more useful.
2nd Goal
Barcelona made a well-crafted attack with Raphinha passing the ball to Lamine, Lamine’s shot was saved and the rebound was converted by Ferran. Ferran was again in a more minus role which was just behind Valencia’s defense and was at the right place at the right time. When Lewandowski starts he is always looking for tap-ins is much higher and is mostly caught offside but Ferran did well.
3rd Goal
Raphinia crafted the goal with a smart pass to Ferran, Ferran was again not too upfront and was just on the brink of the box. He calmly controlled the ball and finished it well in the bottom left corner.
Flick’s contribution in Ferran’s comeback
Barcelona brought Ferran to play on the LW role which is his natural position. Ferran was exceptional at Manchester City when Pep used him in the false 9 role. Flick has done exactly that, he uses him in a role where Ferran can make line-breaking runs and is behind the defense when needed to convert the chances.
