How Flick Uses Tactical Adjustments to Win Key Matches

Hansi Flick has enjoyed success since he joined FC Barcelona. Although there were times when it looked like the German manager’s side would lose the game. However, Flick’s in-game management has been elite this season as he brought on players and made tactical adjustments to always find a way.

The comeback vs Benfica

In the League phase clash vs Benfica in the Champions League, Hansi Flick displayed elite tactical knowledge when Barcelona were 3-1 down in Lisbon. Hansi Flick chose Frenkie de Jong to replace Marc Casado and Gavi to make way for Fermin Lopez. This changed the game as momentum shifted in Barca’s favour and they looked dangerous on the attack. Further substitutions where Eric Garcia and Ferran Torres were brought on were key in Barca’s remontada. Eric Garcia scored the equalizer and then Ferran assisted Raphinha for the winner.

Conquering the Metropolitano

Hansi Flick had failed to get a victory against Diego Simeone this season despite meeting two times. Atletico left the Montjuic with a 2-1 win after Sorloth’s late winner. The Copa del Rey 1st leg at the Montjuic ended up in a 4-4 after the Catalans threw away a 4-2 lead. In the La Liga clash at the Metropolitano Atletico took a 2-0 lead by the 70th minute. After Hansi Flick brought on Ferran Torres, the game changed, and Barca came back to win 4-2.
