How Flick’s experience with young players will benefit Barcelona

Hansi Flick praised the youngsters of Barcelona upon his appointment as the club’s manager. The German manager has utilized the La Masia youngsters perfectly as all of them are shining for Barcelona this season.

When Hansi Flick took control of Bayern Munich, he promoted several academy players including youngsters – Zirkzee, Singh, Oliver Batista Meier and Leon Dajaku. “We’re convinced that these boys will develop in the best way if they train with the best players,” he said at the time. “In our first team, they have the conditions to do that.” Hansi Flick turned Zirkzee into a world-class talent who is now shining in the Premier League at Manchester United.

Another youngster who thrived under Hansi Flick was Alfonso Davies. The Canadian national was trusted by Flick after a series of injuries in Bayern’s defense and since then he has become an irreplaceable player for them. “He’s extremely important to us at left-back, he’s taken a huge stride forward,” Flick said of the 19-year-old.

Helping youngsters at Barcelona

Since he arrived in Barcelona, Hansi Flick has trusted many youngsters with important roles in the team. Pedri was told by the German manager to “dominate the midfield” and that is exactly what the young maestro has been doing for Barcelona this season. Alejandro Balde‘s confidence has certainly increased under Hansi Flick as the left-back runs at defenders with flare. Marc Bernal was entrusted as the CDM for Barcelona, and after his injury Hansi Flick trusted yet another La Masia graduate Marc Casado instead of turning to the transfer market. Lamine Yamal has been protected by Flick from playing every minute and getting injured.
